I have had it done in 1990, I don't think I would have at the time but my mate at the time wanted it so she kicked my arse into the doctors office. Hey its no biggy, you will feel sore for a few days and it will like a potato but it goes away. Everything is the same, you just don't have fish swiming no more. Here is cue ask your doctor to give you some valium a half hour before the procedure. Enjoy the rabbit life latter. Hootie Hoo

Did you ever feel at peace at a Kingdom Hall?
by Singing Man inonly a few times when i was in my late teens about the time of when armagedon was suposed to happen in 75 did i ever feel at peace.
the rest of the time i felt on edge and like my life was slipping away.
i also have felt like that if i had the realization that i was real close to jehovah or jesus, or just was spiritual in general i felt ashamed for it somehow.

Yes, I did, until I got disfellowshipped. After that, it was miserable going to the meetings. They said it was supposed to be a place of refreshment but it was pure torture. They use the scripture that Jehovah disciplines those he loves and that sometimes its with scourges, but the Bible never said the elders and congregation would do that. I truly believe that had it not been for the df treatment, I would have never left. I silently disagreed with the policy on blood but I could have kept my mouth shut and I never knew about their policy on child molestors so I would have probably just stayed ignorant, now I can't go back. Your a lot like me. The point where you mention how you feel after you became disfelloshipped really hit home with me, how it opend your eyes. I could not put into words as heart felt truthfull as you have. Thanks, Shane,

But in some diferent churchs I don't really feel this way, partly because in some churchs they don't hound you about small things likes beards or how you part your hair or if your seeing a friend who is not a witness. It may be the reason that if your NOT going to heaven you can not really be having a close relationship with God, not as much as if you are going to heaven anyway. I don't know, just one mans veiw.....

Does the average witness still believe in Armageddon?
by czarofmischief ini havent' been to kingdom hall in over a year, and i haven't talked to any dubs other than my parents for three years now.
i was wondering if anybody still had any contacts in the truth and how the average dub is feeling about the immediacy of armageddon?.
i remember growing up that this was an omnipresent motivation, especially when the whole "peace and security" thing happened in the early nineties, and we were expecting "sudden destruction" after the collapse of the soviet union.. but safe to say, i'm not worried about armageddon anymore - and i was wondering what the feeling was in the congregations.... czar

Have you commited the unforgivable sin?
by petespal2002 inthe ultimate taboo of being a jw is the unforgivable sin, a direct action of going against the leadings of the holy spirit.
did this used to bother you, and do you think you are seen by jw's as having committed it?
for instance, is apostasy the only occurance of it, or in you opinion would it include adultery etc.

Yes, or if you ask an elder if you give a public talk one day, and he asks you why and you way "so I can shine on like you do." True story folks.

To those desiring to be of the anointed..
by kes152 inthe invitation to be of the anointed is offered to anyone, for the scripture says, "many are called, but few are chosen" (matthew 22:14).. the call is to anyone who wishes to be of the anointed and many respond to the heavenly calling.
but upon finding out what is needed and what is done, only few are the ones who choose to keep the anointing and remain in it.
others do not want to give up their 'possessions' and 'return to the things behind' (luke 18:22, 23; john 6:66).

What One Thing Hurt You The Most...
by shamus inabout the witnesses.
i mean, what was the worst thing that happened that eventually drove you out of the "truth".
what person hurt you the most, and made you just sick.

Well Vergina let me tell how I hurt:
I heard my little daughters feet running behind me in her little pumps after one of those stupid meetings as I turned around she jumped in my arms. It was a meeting of shunning me after I was disfellowshipped for giving in to mortal thoughts. Well needless to say right at that moment I knew this was not a religion of love as Christ spoke about, and I knew then I better get my act together and and stay the hell away from them cause they are all cruel assholes. Pin headed people who see nothing wrong with contributing to family break down and crying children, all done in the name of God.

Well if curseing God is unforgiveable than I guess I am doomed. I have cursed him many times for all the crap that is going on in my life and everyone elses life, while he sets back and does not hint he sees or gives a dam in an y real way shape or form.
